The price is part of the product

Native desktop apps

$0 forever

Windows, Linux and macOS. Available now in closed beta; we provide the apps on your free call. Run every Server VM type on your desktop, or connect to a remote Server.

Single server

$0 forever

SynchresisVM Server for single-server use. Free in beta and after the official 1.0 release. Compare Server installation options and support status.

Clustering

$295 / server / year

Two-server minimum: $590/year. Includes unlimited developer support for the licence term. See response targets and SLA options.

White-glove migration

$15 / VM

We migrate your workloads, plan for minimal downtime and test after each VM's first boot.

Prices are in US dollars. Clustering requires at least two licensed servers. The annual charge applies to every server in the cluster. Online validation and cluster licence terms. Assisted migration is a separate, one-time service.

We’re happy to demonstrate clustering at no charge on your installation call. We may agree a free trial of a small cluster for the duration of closed beta, case by case. Published cluster prices apply unless we agree a trial with you.

How cluster licensing works

Clustering requires active licences and online licence validation. Air-gapped arrangements are available only by agreement with us.

If cluster licence payments lapse, your servers revert to standalone operation without interrupting running workloads. Load balancing, migration between hosts and other cluster operations are unavailable until payment is resolved and the licences are active again.

Support from the people building it

Single-server support

Included free during closed beta, without an SLA by default. As a thank-you, beta participants keep free single-server support for 90 days after closed beta ends.

After closed beta, all single-server users can purchase per-incident support, billed at a preferential hourly rate lower than our general expert-support rate.

Included with clustering

Your cluster licences include unlimited support directly from the developers for the duration of the licences, without an SLA. We target an engineer working on your issue within four hours.

15 minutes to an experienced engineer

For an annual fee, arrange an SLA as short as 15 minutes with an experienced VM infrastructure engineer working directly on your issue. Available Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–8 p.m. US Eastern, with an optional contract to lock in your annual price.

These support options also cover macOS and Windows Server builds offered at your own risk, including free single-server beta support. Routine maintenance and testing still differ by build.

Experience under pressure is part of the commitment. Your 15-minute SLA always puts you directly with an engineer who regularly solves VM infrastructure problems and has restored service through serious production outages.

Discuss paid support or an SLA. We agree the scope and price with you.

Free desktop apps. A free call to get started.

Installation calls are free throughout closed beta and for the first few months after 1.0. No purchase required.

We provide the native desktop apps on your free call and show you around. Start with just the apps and evaluate Server later, or have us install Server on one machine at no charge. You get direct access to the developers for calls, questions and feedback. Single-server support is included free during beta; see the 90-day extension and later support options.

Installing the platform and moving existing workloads are separate steps. The installation call gets the product installed; choose the $15-per-VM white-glove service if you want us to handle workload migration.

We believe the product will earn your recommendation. See for yourself.

Calculate the software and migration cost

Use your server and VM counts to calculate the published prices. Optional SLA fees and separately purchased support are quoted separately and are not included below. Hardware, storage and other services are also separate.

Enter 0 if you are not requesting the migration service.

Annual software / clustering license: $0

One-time white-glove migration: $0

Combined first-year total: $0

For example: 3 clustered servers cost $885 per year. Migration of 20 VMs costs $300 once. Together, that is $1,185 in the first year.

Built-in migration. Hands-on help when you want it.

SynchresisVM includes migration tooling for VMware ESXi, Proxmox VE and Microsoft Hyper-V, including Windows Failover Clusters managed through Failover Cluster Manager. Establish the source versions, guest requirements and a test plan before a move.

With our white-glove service, our engineers plan the cutover to minimize downtime and test the migrated VM after its first boot. Discuss application checks, network dependencies and the recovery path with us before the work begins.

Straight answers before you start

Can I get the desktop apps without installing Server?

Yes. The native Windows, Linux and macOS apps are included in closed beta and available now. Book a free desktop demo call and we’ll provide the apps and show you around. You can evaluate Server later. We also provide the apps during Server installation calls.

Are the desktop apps free when used as Server clients?

Yes. The native Windows, Linux and macOS apps are free forever, whether you use them on their own or connect them to SynchresisVM Server. Clustering remains a separate license for the servers in the cluster.

Does the free single-server license expire when beta ends?

No. SynchresisVM Server is free for single-server use forever, including the official 1.0 product.

Is the first server in a cluster free?

The free offer is for single-server use. A cluster requires at least two licensed servers at $295 each per year: $590/year for a two-server cluster. Unlimited developer support is included for the licence term. See the four-hour engineer-on-task target and optional SLAs.

How long are installation calls free?

Installation calls are free throughout closed beta and for the first few months after 1.0. End date to be announced. The native desktop apps and single-server software remain free forever.

Does the installation call include workload migration?

The installation call gets SynchresisVM running and gives you access to the developers. Moving existing workloads is a separate service, available for $15 per VM with a focus on minimal downtime and testing after first boot.

Does a two-server cluster need a rigid quorum?

SynchresisVM is designed to support clustering with two servers without a rigid-quorum requirement. Work with the developers to validate the storage, network and failure-handling behavior for your deployment.

Does live migration require shared storage?

No. All core x86 and x86_64 VM types support shared-nothing live migration, moving a running VM and its disks between SynchresisVM hosts using local storage. SynchresisVM Server also supports shared storage over NFS and NVMe over Fabrics (NVMe-oF). See storage and live-migration options.

Do cluster nodes need matching CPUs?

No. Every SynchresisVM Server installation is a first-class cluster node, regardless of CPU architecture or manufacturer. Workload placement follows each node’s capabilities. Running VMs can migrate between different processors wherever the backend, VM configuration and participating hosts permit it.

Can I evaluate a cluster?

We’re happy to demonstrate clustering at no charge on your installation call. We may agree a free trial of a small cluster for the duration of closed beta, case by case. A trial needs to be agreed with us; otherwise, clustering is $295 per server per year, with a two-server minimum.
